Impact of Changes in Resuscitation Practice on Survival and Neurological Outcome after Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Resulting From Non-Shockable Arrhythmias

Out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) remains a common cause of mortality.  Whether advances in American Heart Association treatment guidelines have improved outcomes in patients with non-shockable rhythms is uncertain.  This study analyzed outcomes of OHCA from non-shockable rhythms in almost 4,000 patients over a 10 year period (intervention group) and compared them to control patients from the prior 5 years.   Return of circulation, favorable neurologic outcome, discharge from the hospital, and1-year survival were all significantly better in the interventi
